As part of the Conicelli Autoplex family, Conicelli Nissan is now a Silver Sponsor for Relay for Life of Conshohocken, for the benefit of The American Cancer Society.  The event will be held at Conshohocken’s Sutcliffe Park, located on 10th Avenue, on Saturday, May 17th 2014.

Relay For Life is an internationally-renowned phenomenon which has, to date, raised over 5 billion dollars for the fight against cancer.  It started from a humble beginning in 1985, when Dr. Gordy Klatt, a surgeon in Tacoma, Washington, circled a track for 24 hours straight in an effort to raise money for the American Cancer Society.  His efforts raised $27,000 and one year later, 340 supporters took part in his overnight event.   Now, more than 3.5 million people around the world participate in Relay for Life events, highlighting awareness and raising money to save lives.

Relay for Life events are 24 hours and are intended to show how the fight against cancer never sleeps.  The event begins with cancer survivors taking the first lap, celebrating their victory in overcoming cancer while being cheered on by other participants.  After dark, a candlelit ceremony is held to honor the memory of loved ones who have lost their lives to cancer.  There are interactive activities along with food and games for the participants.

Conicelli Nissan has always taken pride in providing the area surrounding Philadelphia with Nissan cars and will continue to do so. Here at your local Nissan dealership, we believe in the importance of supporting events in the community and have sponsored school academic and sports teams, parades, festivals and charity drives throughout Conshohocken and neighboring communities like Collegeville, Landsdale, Ardmore and Wayne. So next time you’re on the market for a new Nissan or just want to talk about a worthy cause, head on down to see us. We’d love to meet you!
