At Conicelli Nissan, we're engaged corporate citizens that believe in the importance of not only having a presence in the local community, but making a positive difference in the lives of its residents. One way we are able to do that is by supporting nonprofit institutions and their community outreach efforts. As part of the Conicelli Autoplex, we are proud that a member of our group made a $5,000 donation to "Looking Out for Kids," a new children's vision care initiative in Conshohocken from The Eye Institute of Salus University.
Sadly enough, many children do not have sufficient access to vision care, eye exams and prescription glasses or contacts. In fact, it is thought that one in four children are underperforming in school directly because of vision related problems. The Eye Institute of Salus University, which has been offering free services to Conshohocken students for decades, has recently expanded to Norristown and we are very happy to be assisting in their work.
"Looking Out for Kids" visits area high schools, elementary and middle schools providing eye exams, glasses, contacts or other eyewear to numerous uninsured students in need. Their testing revealed that nearly 90% of students they examined needed prescription eyewear that they otherwise would not been able to have. We're passionate about doing good in our community, and passionate about the Nissan automobiles we sell.
