The 65th Conshohocken Soap Box Derby went off without a hitch on Monday, July 4. There was a threat of rain, which held off, eventually leading to sunny skies and great racing weather. Conicelli Autoplex of Conshohocken once again was privileged to sponsor this event, which featured 15 Stock and 14 Super Stock racers.

The action took place on Fayette Street, in Conshohocken, where the racers competed to cross the finish line located between Fifth and Sixth Avenues. The competitors, between the ages of 7 and 18, raced either Stock or Super Stock derby cars, each with their own unique paint jobs. There was stiff competition this year with over 25 racers all gunning for that first place trophy, filling the day with a fun competitive spirit.

The winners of the 2016 Conshohocken Soap Box Derby were Erin Donovan, in the Super Stock category, and Charlotte Gale, in the Stock category.

The winners will then have a chance to go and race in the All-American Soap Box Derby World Championship in Akron, Ohio, beginning July 10th. This 65th annual Conshohocken event leading up to the Nationals was a full day of family-oriented fun with food, refreshments, games, exhibits, and once again proudly sponsored again by Conicelli Autoplex!
